A hospice is organising a 31-mile dawn-to-dusk charity walk to raise money for the care of patients afflicted with cancer and other life threatening diseases and their families.
St Richard’s Hospice is organising the Worcestershire Way Walk on June 25. The annual event, which is attended by thousands of walkers from across the country, starts from Bewdley through to the Malvern Hills.
The participants have to raise at least £250 in sponsorship. On registration they will receive a complimentary copy of The Official Worcestershire Way Walkers Guide and sponsorship details.
Worcestershire County Council’s Countryside Service staff will also support the walk on the day. Frequent rest and watering stops along the route will provide respite to the walkers.
Alison Parkes, the event organiser, said: “Although not for the faint hearted, keen walkers will revel in this opportunity to explore one of the best routes in Britain.
“The Way passes through a marvellous landscape studded with copses, streams and woodlands and gives walkers unparalleled views of some of the best countryside that Worcestershire has to offer.”
